News Reports Guidelines
· Use the News Report Form provided on the course website to prepare a written report based on one news article; make sure to choose an article of sufficient length and detail. If the article is short, you may refer to additional related articles.
· Use a reputable news source (i.e. no blogs or wikis! See suggested links in the library research guide online).
· For reports that will be presented in class, use a very recent news article (i.e. in the last week to two weeks, unless you have a particular interest in an older item and you check with me first). Reports for a news portfolio may include articles within the past five years.
· The news article must relate to one of the topics on the course schedule. Check with me if you are unsure about a topic.
· You must use your own words in the report - I do check your reports against the original news source!
· Review the grading rubric provided on the course website before writing your report to ensure the best possible grade.
